About the Cover

Cover Figure

Blood-sucking flies (Corethrella spp.) attacking a male túngara frog (Physalaemus pustulosus). Male túngara frogs call to attract females but incidentally also attract the flies that use the call to locate the frog and obtain a blood meal. Male frogs producing calls that are more attractive to females also increase their risk of being attacked by the flies (see Bernal et al. pp. 709–715). Photo by Alexander T. Baugh.
